gray world

I've been trying to find the motivated side of me for more than a month now, it has showed its face only twice since final review. I'm pretty sure it is hiding in the same place the sun is. for the first two weeks I attributed it to my lack of sleep and crazy schedule fall term. I usually sleep for a week straight before I start to feel normal again.

But, at night I couldn't sleep, couldn't shut my brain down. I couldn't wake up in the morning. This went on for 2.5 weeks before I was forced into a schedule again for christmas. This seemed to help the sleeping problem, but not the motivation problem.

Then, I saw the sun! I saw it in Utah! It might have been hiding there all along, but I can't be sure.

I arrived back in Eugene a few days ago after a snowy, sunny, winter wonderland drive, to a gray world. After spending the day yesterday with Rosie, I mustered some enthusiasm for cleaning and reorganizing my room... a necessary step to being productive, as I'm incapable of getting work done in a messy room. Lo and behold, I woke up this morning (albeit after another nearly sleepless night) and I had motivation! the sun came out again.

I sent it a good night before it winked past the horizon. Maybe we'll see it again tomorrow?
